Aggressive behaviour can develop as a result of fear and anxiety, or a demonstration of dominance. Learn to recoqnise the warning signs, watch out for them and help prevent problem behaviour occurring. Dogs mark territory by urinating, but if your dog urinates on your leg, or puts his paws on another dogs back, mounts it, or pins it to the ground, this is very dominant behaviour. If another dog is foolish enough to challenge the alpha by trying to take his bone or his favorite sleeping place, the alpha dog will quickly put him in his place with a hard stare or a growl. If this doesn't work, the alpha dog will enforce his leadership with his teeth.![]()
