Everyday Issues
The pleasures and rewards of owning a dog can inevitably have their ups and downs. The following are some of the questions we are asked most frequently
How can I stop my dog going to the toilet overnight? - always feed your dog at regular times, and don't leave food down or overfeed. Take the dog outside at regular times. Change the last meal time. Always accompany your dog to the garden or yard area and praise it for going outside.
How can I prevent my puppy from chasing and biting my child? - children and dogs easily misunderstand each others signals. Both dog and child need to be taught how to understand these signals and be gentle with each other
How do I stop my dog play biting me? - Do not overexcite your dog with rough play or by touching it inappropriately. Most dogs dislike being patted or stroked on the head. Far from soothing, it makes them mouthy. Physical contact should be long slow gentle strokes along the sides of the body, taking care not to lean directly over the dog.
My dog is not very good with other dogs. Can I change this? - this is about socialisation. Talk to Groveshill.

Why does my dog steal? - this is attention seeking behaviour and is covered under the titles Anxiety and Agression
